About me
I’m a UKCP and BACP-registered Psychotherapist, offering counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups. My work focuses on relationship challenges, trauma, anxiety, depression, identity, workplace stress, and the complexities of navigating life’s transitions. Alongside my private practice, I have worked with UK mental health charities, supporting clients from diverse cultural backgrounds through a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
Originally from New Zealand, I’m Māori and have lived in the UK for the past 20 years, bringing a cross-cultural perspective to my work.
Before training as a Psychotherapist, I spent over 15 years as a senior executive in the corporate sector, managing and coaching teams. I understand firsthand the pressures of corporate life—the stress, the complexities of leadership, and the challenge of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. This experience enables me to support both individuals and businesses in overcoming psychological barriers that contribute to work-related stress and relational difficulties.
At the heart of my work is a passion for helping people develop deeper self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful connections—whether in personal relationships or professional environments.
If you’re ready to explore what’s holding you back and build a path forward, I’d love to help.
My Approach
As a Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) I use a relational & co-created approach to therapy, which means which means that what emerges in the relationship between client and therapist is important to the therapeutic process and outcome. I am warm, empathic, approachable, and non-judgemental.
I will challenge clients where appropriate and believe in their capacity to change, grow, and actualise their potential. This might sometimes feel uncomfortable, frustrating, or worrying as clients begin to question their frame of reference or how they live their lives and start to make changes.
We all have the potential to grow, and therapy can be a potent agent for helping us develop healthier patterns, new coping strategies, or perspectives. I listen to each individual regarding the pace of the work and am responsive in my approach to support individual growth and understanding of self.
My work is based in Transactional Analysis (TA) using both a relational and integrative approach, drawing on different theories such as drivers, injunctions, attachment theory, neuroscience and object relations. As a qualified yoga teacher, I believe our thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and bodies are deeply connected. By becoming aware of what is happening in our bodies, we can become more attuned to our emotions. Working relationally means I pay particular attention to the dynamics emerging in our sessions, which allow us to explore those patterns you may bring into other relationships. I will work with you to better understand your feelings, thoughts, and behaviours to help resolve any difficulties.
